Neuchâtel emigrants to Mexico
Charles Huguenin (-Virchaux) (b. Le Locle, 17 February 1844), a pharmacist, received a passport for Mexico on 3 August 1864. In Mexico, he married first Marie Carricart and then Julie Emery and had children by both wives. One of his sons, Albert-Antoine, served as a pilot in France during the First World War and was killed in action. Charles' parents were Edouard Huguenin-Virchaux and Julie-Frédérique Junod and this Huguenin-Virchaux line can be traced back to the early 1400’s and the first known Huguenin.
There are also descendants of the Huguenin-Elie branch in Mexico today.
